Brevard County, Florida – “Sovereign Citizen” refers to a local group whom attempted to bypass State and Federal laws by creating its own form of government. They elected a “governor,” Michael Bishop, A/K/A Dr. Michael Bishop. Mr. Bishop does not lead the group alone however, he is joined by his wife Jennifer Bishop. The Bishops claim to have the ability to eliminate mortgages and other debts for group members, but for a fee of course. Their platform is to claim current State and Federal laws governments have no right to enforce laws.
Do not be fooled by the claims of theses so called sovereign citizens. They have no power and cannot stop existing State and Federal governments from enforcing theirs. A prime example of the utter lack of power of the Bishops and these so called sovereign citizen groups is the Brevard County case of Santander Consumer USA, Inc. v. Jennifer Bishop, case number 13-CA-23748. On June 13, 2014 Amber Kourofsky appeared on behalf of the plaintiff Santander Consumer USA, Inc. and defeated Mrs. Jennifer Bishop on her own personal debt. If the Bishops can’t stop creditors form using current laws to enforce legal rights on their own personal debts, what make you think they can stop it from happening for you?
